Aster Krawiec
Aster Krawiec is an illustrator, photographer and multimedia artist and environmentalist from Massachusetts, USA. He studied Illustration and Environmental Science at Parsons School of Design in New York City, where he lived for four years.
Working across illustration, photography and multimedia, his practice is informed by his queer identity and Polish cultural background, exploring intersections between identity, ecology, folklore and political activism through a variety of creative outlets and multimedia projects.
His interests include ornithology — particularly birdwatching, bird illustration and photography — ecology, biodiversity, nature photography and trees, as well as geopolitics, languages and communication, queer and trans existence, Slavic paganism, folklore, mythology and storytelling.
He is also interested in building fantasy worlds, dance, movement, the abstract and surreal. Through his work, Aster shares a perspective shaped by his lived experiences, with the aim of making a difference in the world through art.
