GRETA RYBUS (b.1986 USA) is a photographer based in Maine. Rybus was an artist in residence during EXPEDITION 1 - La Wayaka Current / Tropic Location + EXPEDITION 8 - La Wayaka Current / Arctic Location.
On coming to Arctic - "This is the third chapter of my five-part series documenting climate change as a human rights issue and human experience. I am gathering images, interviews, and stories about how communities' relationships with nature are changing as our planet undergoes unprecedented changes. The second part of the series was successfully created in Panama with La Wayaka, and I would love the opportunity to work with La Wayaka again to continue the project." - Greta Rybus
Rybus is an American photojournalist based in Portland, Maine. She has degrees in Photojournalism and Cultural Anthropology, and typically works on assignments for magazines and newspapers. Greta specializes in portraiture, travel, and documentary work. Her ongoing climate change project is a personal endeavor that has been featured in CNN and Orion Magazine.

During her residency with us, Greta worked at both locations from Tropic to Arctic to collect quotes and images to tell stories about climate change effecting people in remote and contrasting geographical locations.
